Ahead of the highly anticipated general elections, a team of six scuba divers in Chennai embarked on a unique voter awareness campaign. Venturing into the depths of the sea off Neelankarai, these divers showcased the voting process in an innovative manner.

The divers plunged sixty feet underwater, simulating the voting process while carrying a mock Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and displaying placards on voting awareness.
The programme was organised by SB Aravind Tharunsri, a scuba dive instructor and director at Temple Adventure.
The upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to begin on April 19, will span seven phases over 44 days, with the counting of votes set for June 4. With over 97 crore eligible voters across the country, this election is poised to be the largest democratic exercise in the world.
